We secure support for the local sporting community
As a Yorkshire based company, Network Labour Services are keen to support the community within which they both work and live in. That is why they are very active with local sports clubs and charity organisations. Most recently the company donated 30 tracksuits to Mike Tobins Gym, one of the most established martial arts gyms in Yorkshire. The tracksuits were given to both adults and children to wear when attending competitions.
A brochure for Thai Boxing at Mike Tobins Gym can be found here.
Managing Director, Glen Crosthwaite said "To be good at martial arts takes a lot of commitment and dedication not just from the pupil but from the teacher and Mike Tobin and his team give both young people and adults bucket loads of both, which is why Network Labour Services are helping with the funding and The West Yorkshire Muay Thai gym in Armley."
As a former WAKO Heavyweight Full Contact champion and British Heavyweight Grand-Prix Kick-jutsu champion, Glen also assists training sessions with Mike at the gym. Glen adds, "My career in Thai Boxing taught me that to achieve something I had to work hard. I was able to transfer that discipline that I gained from the sport to enable me to develop Network Labour Services as a successful business and now I’m in a position where I can give young people the same opportunities."
As official partners of the Leeds Rugby Foundation, Network Labour Services are also keen to promote health and well being amongst young people and they are currently speaking with the foundation regarding using the gym as a possible outlet to use in aid of training and educating the local children on self defence and fitness.
Mike Tobin commented, "I am really grateful to Glen and Network Labour Services for their ongoing support. Martial arts is about much more than just punching and kicking it’s about leadership and courage a life of action but also of spiritual and emotional development. I’m not trying to turn young kids into street fighters, I’m trying to give them the support and discipline that will keep them off the streets and give them a chance in life. Many years ago there were many youth clubs / boxing clubs, now they seem few and far between. Glen and his team are a huge part of the support structure." Without whom I would not of had the chance to offer these facilities. Its through Glens continued support I am able to continue teaching and developing these kids.
As well as being popular with up and coming professional fighters, the West Yorkshire Muay Thai Gym is also used by people who just want to shape up and lose weight. It is also used as training centre for various other sporting disciplines. The Castleford Panthers rugby league team go there for Thai boxing circuits this they say is a very good way of maintaining there fitness levels and coordination skills.
